The re-development works are heading into the final furlong at Catterick and in just four weeks’ time, on Monday 17 June, the gates will open for the first time since March as we welcome racegoers to the new and improved Catterick Racecourse!
This season, Catterick will stage 15 Flat meetings with a variety of different themes and events to suit everyone. These include a new Cocktails & Casino Night on Monday (evening) 1 July, when there will be live music and free to play ‘fun money’ casino games to be enjoyed alongside the racing action.
For the younger racing fans, the August Family Days are back again this year. The first, Forces’ Family Day, will take place on Tuesday 6 August. Remember, all military personnel are entitled to complimentary tickets for this meeting and as with all Catterick’s fixtures, under 18’s race FREE! We’ll also have free children’s entertainment, including a ‘boot camp’ style giant inflatable obstacle course, on offer throughout the afternoon in the Course Enclosure.
The second family day is a Carnival themed day on Monday 19 August, when side stall games and rides will be in the Course Enclosure for the kids to enjoy whilst the grown-ups watch the racing!
In addition, August also sees the return of Racing Careers Day on Monday 12 August. Children aged 12 and over have the unique opportunity to join a FREE behind the scenes tour of the racecourse and careers workshop ahead of racing. Click here for more information.
August is a busy month which culminates with one of the most popular days of the season – Ladies’ Day on Wednesday 28 August. This year, there’s new Best Couple competition in addition to the Best Dressed Lady and Best Hat competitions. We’ve got some fantastic prizes on offer too, thanks to our sponsors La Fille Rouge, The Secret Spa and The Black Bull Inn. The Yorkshire Dales Distillery will also be at the course, offering the first 100 ladies to visit their stand a complimentary cocktail! Find out more about Ladies’ Day here.
We’ll see Catterick’s 12 Furlong Series Champion crowned on Saturday 21 September, when amongst the racing action, there will be live music from The Black Marcs and a beer festival in the Grandstand & Paddock Enclosure, where the Pennine Brewery Company will have a selection of 12 different ales and ciders for you to try!
This seasons penultimate fixture, on Saturday 19 October, will see Catterick’s richest race take centre stage. The William Hill Catterick Dash is a minimum distance 5-furlong sprint which should attract plenty of good runners from across Yorkshire and the United Kingdom.
