With less than two weeks to go, the excitement is building, spirits are high, and the roar can almost be heard…it’s Cheltenham Festival time!
‘Oh sugar!!’ I hear you say…you have nothing to wear?!
Fear not, Catterick Races Champion Jockey Series sponsors, Millbry Hill Country Store have your back. They’ve put together four spicy hot outfits that will have you trotting around the parade ring from dawn until dusk!
For those that thrive off smart and sleek, this is the look for you...
A traditional tweed goes a long way, and it pays to invest in quality. This Holland Cooper Kempton Coat and skirt is a luxurious combination with a rust colour pop on the collar, sleeve and pockets. This pop of colour also matches perfectly with the Fairfax & Favor short Kensington suede boots. These boots have just enough heel to add elegance without obstructing your step count, and what better to match them with than the Fairfax & Favor Mini Windsor handbag, which is an elegant option for those who prefer to carry the essentials only.
The Holland Cooper Ladies Carmague Knit Roll Neck is the prefect under layer with this stunning outfit, we recommend it in beige to add some lighter tones, however it is also available in grey and navy. Its fine, its fitted and it’s fashionable…an investment?!
What’s more luxurious than silk? Treat your neck to a Clare Shaw silk scarf. Clare’s patterns and colours are outstanding, and with this outfit we’ve chosen this amazing powder blue Ladies Large Silk Wing and a Prayer Scarf.
To ‘top’ it off we have the gorgeous Hicks & Brown Suffolk Fedora with natural and dyed black side feather. This really pulls the entire outfit together, and with this style being one of the hottest of the moment you’ll be a hit in the Social Stable!
A brighter, lighter more summery feel...
If the sun is shining what better than to ditch the coat and introduce some white! Starting with your white jeans, these Schoffel rather fittingly named ‘Cheltenham’ style are an elastic and cotton blend which maximises comfort and hugs your pins. The skinny leg also allows them to easily fit inside of your boot, which of course have to be Fairfax and Favor!
The Fairfax and Favor style we have chosen with this outfit is the classic Regina, this time in tan suede. We’ve opted for the heeled version, to again add a little bit of elegance, but the flat option would look equally as great.
Similar to the previous outfit we’re keeping our Holland Cooper Ladies Carmague Knit Roll Neck in the beige. By keeping your top and bottom in subtle colours it makes adding colours over the top a lot easier, hence our Holland Cooper Classic Airforce cape which consists of pale blues and a light tweed.
We’re accessorising this beautiful outfit with the Fairfax and Favor Sennowe belt in navy, paired with the Mini Windsor Fairfax and Favor handbag also in navy.
This outfit screams fabulous and fun and is making us super excited for summer!
If you love a pretty print, this is for you...
Let the print do the talking…here we are using the magnificent Joules Rosamund Blouse. In cooperating flowers, greenery and birds in pretty lilacs, greens and purples this is the perfect top to take you from Autumn through to Spring. Cut with a curve this blouse is flattering tucked in, or for a more casual look can be left to hang freely.
Paired with the navy Schoffel ‘Cheltenham’ jeans which are made from majority cotton; this makes them breathable, light weight, and a small percentage of elastic to give that well needed stretch! Keeping your jeans dark, and your top light really encourages the print to jump out, which also makes your legs look skinner – yippee!
If there’s a slight breeze, layer on with the Joules Fieldmoor Tweed Gilet, which includes all the colours in the blouse. With deep pockets and a thick lining this will keep you warmer than you think! Add some arm candy with the Joules leather Saddle Bag, this little beauty is a traditional styled bag that never dates. Made from high quality polished leather, and a fun bee print interior this really is something special. We’ve chosen it in the Oxblood to match the colour theme, and love that shoulder strap design, perfect for keeping your hands free to clutch that racecard.
For your feet we have another classic Fairfax and Favor Regina in tan with this outfit, as you really can’t go wrong! However this time, we’re accessorising with some oxblood tassels to really make these colours burst. A small detail that adds endless amounts of colour, and complements your Regina’s perfectly with your outfit. To round off the outfit and create a signature Cheltenham look, we’re choosing the burgundy Hicks & Brown Fedora with natural and black feather.
Keeping it casual. If you’re more into under-dressing than over then this is the one for you...
By no means is this not smart, it’s just a more relaxed approach to our Cheltenham apparel. Another Spring style here with a fun little print, the Schoffel Helmsley shirt. It has just enough going on without it being too much, and we love the very popular all over stars, especially in the strong navy.
On top of this we have the Schoffel Mayfair Down coat, again in navy. If you’ve ever wanted to wear your duvet, then this is your answer, its comfortable, padded, and oh so warm! Pinched in at the waist it’s flattering, and very luxurious with its leather piping trim.
We’re again using the Schoffel Cheltenham skinny white jeans, teamed with the classic Fairfax and Favor Regina in tan. We’ve kept the tassels in tan this time, to stick to the effortless look, and avoid too much presence. in contrast we’ve added the Fairfax and Favor Pembroke handbag in tan, which dramatically smartens up this outfit.
The Fairfax and Favor Sennowe navy belt is also used to sharpen up your jeans. If the sun starts to shine and the coat comes off, this navy belt really encourages the navy stars to stand out on the blouse and creates a clear definition of your waist.
Don’t forget, if you’d like to see these Cheltenham looks in the flesh, then join us for Countryside Day on Wednesday 6th March, where Millbry Hill will be showcasing these looks in a fashion show at the Winning Enclosure at 1:45pm before the racing action starts. What better way to get raceday ready for the most fashionable fixture of the year! In addition, they will have a stand on the day where racegoers will have the chance to win hospitality tickets to Hurworth Point-to-Point on the 16th March.
