Catterick’s 2024 Flat season continues on Saturday 8 June with one of its highlights – the Catterick Beer Festival Raceday, in association with Pennine Brewing Company.
This will be the sixth year the brewery will host the beer festival at Catterick Racecourse, however it is the first time the event will take place in June.
The action packed seven-race card will kick off at 2.10pm with the Pennine Brewing Beer Festival Restricted Maiden Fillies’ Stakes. The feature race, which has been kindly sponsored by the family run Middleton St George based bookmakers, Vickers Bet, will come under starters orders at 4.30pm, whilst the last race is scheduled for 5.40pm.
Alongside the racing action, Pennine Brewing Co. will have ten different ales and ciders for racegoers to sample throughout the afternoon. Based locally to the racecourse at Well, the Pennine Brewing Co. is an independent family run brewery that has several permanent brews, and their brewers also develop a number of seasonal specials throughout the year.
Debbie Clayton from Pennine Brewing Company said: “All of us at Pennine are super excited for the sixth Catterick Beer Festival! We look forward to this date in our diary each year and this year is no exception. We will be bringing a huge selection of our award-winning brews for the fabulous race goers to enjoy and can’t wait to celebrate all things beer and racing with you!”
In addition, the Black Marcs will be playing live throughout the afternoon and after racing. The gates will be staying open longer than usual, until 6.30pm, allowing racegoers to enjoy the Beer Festival and live music into the evening once the racing has finished.
As with all Catterick Racecourse’s fixtures, accompanied under 18’s will be admitted free of charge and, in addition to the indoor and outdoor play areas, there will be free entertainment in the Course Enclosure including Meltdown – a multi-player wipeout challenge – and the Rock n Roller challenge, plus inflatable slides and soft play to keep any younger racing fans entertained throughout the day.
Emma Stevenson, General Commercial Manager said: “We’re delighted to continue our partnership with the Pennine Brewing Company this year for the Catterick Beer Festival Raceday – it’s always a popular day, with something on offer for everyone to enjoy, from the racing action to the live music and beer festival, plus free children’s entertainment in the Course Enclosure!”
The gates will be open to the public from midday, and the free shuttle bus will bring racegoers from Richmond Market Place to the racecourse approximately one hour prior to the first race.
Tickets will be available to purchase at the gates on the day, while advanced and group booking discounts are available until midnight on Thursday 6 June, either over the phone by calling the racecourse office on 01748 811478 or online at www.catterickbridge.co.uk.
Concessions for students and those aged 65 and over, and discounted military tickets are also available both in advance and at the gates on the day.
