Next up at Catterick Races it’s time for the courses longest and most prestigious National Hunt race, the Vickers.Bet North Yorkshire Grand National, on Thursday 11 January.
The race is a true test of stamina and jumping ability, with the competitors running over three miles, six furlongs and facing twenty-four jumping obstacles along the way.
Last year’s winner BUSHYPARK is among the 8 declared runners, set to defend his 2023 title.
Trained locally by Philip Kirby, BUSHYPARK’s performance under Tommy Dowson in the 2023 race also scored the jump training performance of the season for Philip Kirby at the Go Racing in Yorkshire Annual Awards, sponsored by the Tote.

Racegoers have seven races to look forward to with the feature race fifth on the card, scheduled for 2.30pm. The first race will come under starters orders at 12.10pm and the last race is due off at 3.40pm. Gates will open to the public from 10.10am.
Advanced booking discounts end at midnight tonight (09/11/2024), while tickets will also be available at the gates on the day and all racegoers will receive a complimentary racecard on arrival.
