Catterick’s 2022/23 National Hunt Season gets underway in just two weeks’ time on Friday 18 November, the first of eleven National Hunt fixtures to be staged at Catterick this season.
An additional fixture on 28 November follows the season opener before the festivities begin at the course. Christmas at Catterick, on Tuesday 13 December, is the first of our festive fixtures when the Service Children's Community Choir – who took part in Britain’s Got Talent earlier this year – will be singing Christmas carols for racegoers ahead of the first race!
Other notable dates include Christmas Jumper Day on Wednesday 28 December, when wearing your best Christmas Jumper could win you a prize, followed by the ever-popular New Year’s Day meeting.
Catterick’s longest and most prestigious National Hunt race, the North Yorkshire Grand National takes place on Thursday 12 January. The race was won in 2022 by the Evan Williams-trained Supreme Escape – the first time in over five years that the trophy has left Yorkshire, will it return in 2023?
Finally, we end the season on a high with Countryside Ladies’ Day on Wednesday 8 March when there will be prizes in store for the best dressed lady and best accessory on the day.
The popular restaurant package is available to book at all fixtures, while there’s a range of other options available for those looking for a lighter bite on race day and the Paddock Café will be serving hot drinks and cakes throughout the season.
For anyone looking to enjoy the racing from the Course Enclosure, please be aware that the Course Enclosure will be open as a picnic enclosure, with the bar facility open for shelter only, during the National Hunt Season – except for on 28 December and New Year’s Day.
Also this season, we welcome Hannah Ali as our official racecourse photographer and Amy Ryan will take over as race day presenter. Do say hello if you spot either of them on your visit to Catterick!
Tickets for all Catterick’s 2021/22 National Hunt fixtures are available to purchase now. Advanced booking discounts are available both online and over the phone when tickets are booked at least 48 hours prior to the race day. Racegoers can also get closer to the action for less this winter, with a winter season discount available on admission for fixtures between 2 January and 31 March.
For those looking to become a regular attendee at Catterick, the new annual cards are a good way to save on the cost of admission throughout the year. The 2022/23 Annual Card runs from 1 November 2022 until 31 October 2023.
