There’s three fixtures at Catterick Races over the festive period this year on Tuesday 17 December, Saturday 28 December and New Year’s Day. Join us for some festive fun and National Hunt racing action…and if you need a reason, here’s ten:
1. Fun for all the family
An afternoon of National Hunt racing offers something for the whole family to enjoy together – no arguing over what to watch on the TV or who’s cheating in Monopoly!
2. Fresh air & time outdoors
Sometimes we can be left feeling full and a little flat after Christmas. Fresh air and time outdoors (on a racecourse!) is a great way to dust off the Christmas cobwebs and lift the post-Christmas blues.
3. Mince pies & mulled wine
Complimentary mulled wine & mince pies ahead of an afternoon of thrilling racing action, what’s not to love?! Join us at our meeting on Saturday 28 December, as mulled wine & mince pies are served at the main entrance on arrival, while stocks last - make sure to arrive early so that you don’t miss out!
4. Tradition
The Christmas Day lunch, Boxing Day walk, New Year’s Eve party and…New Year’s Day at the races! For a lot of people a day at the races is part of their Christmas tradition, why not make it a part of yours and start your 2020 with an afternoon of National Hunt racing.
5. Warm and friendly welcome
The team at Catterick pride themselves on offering a warm and friendly welcome to all racegoers, whatever the weather, and at Christmas there's always an extra festive cheer in the air!
6. Kid's go free
Under 18’s are admitted free of charge to all of Catterick’s fixtures when accompanied by an adult. Where else can you entertain the children for free this Christmas?
7. The gift of racing
Do you know somebody with a passion for racing – why not bring them to the races and give them the gift of racing this Christmas! You can also purchase gift vouchers from the Racecourse Office, and The Injured Jockeys fund will be at our meeting on 17th December with a selection of Christmas gifts for the racing enthusiast…perfect for some last minute Christmas shopping!
8. Closer to the action
At Catterick Races you’re never far from the action, whether it’s watching the horses in the parade ring ahead of racing, cheering them on as they race down the final furlong or welcoming them back into the Winner’s Enclosure after the race!
9. Christmas Carols
Get into the festive spirit ahead of Christmas on Tuesday 17 December when Le Cateau School choir will be singing Christmas Carols for our racegoers to enjoy ahead of the first race!
10. Christmas lights
🎵 It’s the most wonderful time of the year…! 🎵 The racecourse is transformed around Christmas time as the lights go up around the course to give a true festive feel for racegoers as they enjoy the racing.
We hope you can join us for some racing over the Christmas period this year, and would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from everyone at Catterick Racecourse!
