As the Go Racing in Yorkshire Summer Festival, sponsored by Sky Bet, fast approaches, racegoers have something extra to look forward to.
Throughout the week at nearly all the racecourses there will be a festival special addition to the bar and menu.
General Manager of Go Racing in Yorkshire, Charlotte Russell, said of the idea;
“When you think of festivals you think of food and drink and working with caterers CGC Event Caterers and Masons Yorkshire Gin we have come up with some festival specifics that tie the festival together.”
From the food outlets, a Yorkshire Pudding wrap is the perfect savoury treat for a festival in the White Rose county. Served with beef and gravy it contains the best bits of a roast dinner and is sure to be popular with Yorkshire racegoers.
Nigel Dobson, Senior Executive of the Racing Division for CGC Event Caterers said;
“A festival food special is a great addition to the on-course activity and a Yorkshire Pudding based dish was a no-brainer. We are looking forward to serving this to racegoers throughout the Summer Festival week.”
A collaboration with Masons Yorkshire Gin has brought about a special festival cocktail. Using their Masons Tea Edition and a lemon tonic, garnished with a sprig of mint, the drink not only tastes delicious but looks good too.
“We were delighted to work with Go Racing in Yorkshire on a festival cocktail. Nothing says summer like lemons and mixed with our Tea Edition Gin it is both enjoyable and refreshing.” Said Cathy Mason, owner of Masons Yorkshire Gin.
The Go Racing in Yorkshire Summer Festival takes place from Saturday, July 20 to Sunday, July 28, with 10 race meetings over nine days at eight racecourses, plus an open afternoon at Jack Berry House, Malton on Tuesday, July 23.
